At LGLA we welcome submissions in all fields and charge no reading fees.
We love to read books that stimulate and provoke: we love reading stories that resonate intellectually, emotionally, and for a long time after we’ve finished reading them. At the moment, Laura Gross is particularly interested in politics, current affairs, and espionage from a diverse range of voices and perspectives, and Lauren Scovel is interested in both fiction and nonfiction with a timely, distinctive story and a diverse cast of characters.
Also note that we do not represent the following genres and formats:
- Science Fiction
- Picture Books
- Middle Grade
- Young Adult
- Any work that has been previously self-published
After selecting the category below that most closely fits your work, you will be asked to create a free Submittable account. On the submission form, please include a concise but substantive cover letter. You may include the first 6,000 words of your manuscript in the form as well. We will request further sample chapters from you at a later date, if we think your work suits our list.
Please note that we cap the number of submissions we receive each month. If you decide to submit after our maximum number of submissions has been reached, you will be prompted to return at the beginning of the next month.
We will make every effort to respond to your query within a timely fashion but please remember that LGLA receives a high volume of queries every day. This means that it may take us 3-4 months to respond to your query. We’re sorry for this, but it simply cannot be avoided if we are to read each submission properly.
